🍄 Get down to earth with a full day interactive Fungi Workshop at Retford Park on Wed 5th May in Bowral. Under the guidance of inspiring ecologist and photographer Dr Alison Pouliot, the basics of fungi history, identification & conservation will be covered followed by a picnic style lunch in the stunning gardens, then a search for fungi of interest! Tickets required.
🍺 The Highland pubs and beer gardens are reliably good & provide gorgeous day trip destinations. The beautiful Burrawang Village Hotel and historic Surveyor General Inn are both open all week for lunch and dinner. Bundanoon Hotel is open all week for dinners, plus lunches Thursday onwards & Sutton Forest Inn is open for lunch and dinners Wednesdays to Sundays. Go for a wander in the historic and character filled villages whilst you’re there too: Burrawang, Berrima, Sutton Forest and Bundanoon. AND ever popular Briars Inn at Burradoo is expected to re-open by May, every day for lunch and dinner so another mid week option! Great news!!!
🍷 So many cellar doors showcasing cool climate wines in the Southern Highlands region are now open 7 days a week, not just weekends! There’s Ben Dooley Estate, Tertini Wines, Centennial Vineyards, St Maur Wines, Cherry Tree Hill Wines & Artemis Wines & Distillery open for tastings all week. All set in idyllic rural locations, some have fabulous food offerings too – worth checking their sites and booking ahead!
