🥧 June is Pie Time in the Southern Highlands – any excuse for a pie really! So many great offerings right through the month but love the sound of “Pie & Ride”, which includes two hours electric bike hire from Schmokin in Berrima plus their Pie of the Day. What a fun way to explore this beautiful and historic township followed by a well-earned and locally crafted pie.
🐕🦺 Truffle Hunt with Lunch (& wine) sounds pretty good too! Meeting at a truffle farm near Marulan on the southern end of the Highlands, this experience includes truffle hunting with clever Ganymede Truffle dog Zazu, a truffle inspired 3 course lunch and matched wine tasting. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get outdoors, meet the producers, then taste and buy some truffles too. Season starts Saturday June 26.
🥂 Get back to the Briars Inn at Burradoo, one of the Highland’s favourite pubs. Re-opened after a beautiful refurbishment just in time for winter so you can snuggle up in front of one of their fires with a glass of your favourite cool climate wine in hand. Open 7 days for lunch and dinner (online bookings recommended for the bistro). Outside is plenty of protected seating and a fabulous chess board to keep the kids busy…
🥕Weekend Markets are on all around the Highlands villages showcasing wonderful local produce and makers each month. Take your pick, bring your shopping basket and plan a Highlands weekend in June around one of them:

🍷Artemis Wines & Distillery – wine tastings, gin, local cheeses and charcuterie boards, woodfired pizza and picnic rugs amongst the vines. Live music on the weekends too. A cellar door and vineyard that ticks all the boxes! A lovely relaxed winery for all the family to enjoy at Mittagong – booking is recommended.
