Our Pick of Fab Things On July 2021 in the Highlands

Great things on July 2021

Bundanoon Winterfest is back! July 3-11. There’s an opening night bash on Bundanoon Oval followed by a fabulous program of events all week. There’s pizza making for kids, a skateboarding clinic, Indian cooking, felt making, phone photography, ukulele, harmonica, crocheting, choir at the pub, Taronga Zoomobile, a gourmet dinner, and a cheese and beer tasting just to name a few. Check out the full program and nab your tix to this wonderful community led event before they all go!

🧁 High Tea at Peppers Manor House every Saturday from 12-2pm. If you are going to have a high tea with the girls in the Highlands this is the perfect grand old country retreat at Sutton Forest to do it! Using local, seasonal produce, accompanied by bubbles too if you wish, it’s an especially charming high tea given the location and grounds to explore. Bookings essential.

🤸‍♂️ Illawarra Fly is a must for any treetop adventurers in the family, especially in the upcoming school hols. Choose between the thrilling overhead zipline or a stunning treetop walk with views out over the lush escarpment toward the coast. And very conveniently located near the famous Robertson Pie Shop for sweet or savoury treats afterwards.

🍷 Tertini Wines at Mittagong is celebrated for it’s selection of cool climate wines, and has a very popular cellar door where tasting by the cosy log fire this winter will be very hard to take! Very partial to their Pinot Noir here, which is 100% sourced from their Southern Highlands vineyard, but they have some lovely and more unusual wines sourced from grapes normally grown in Northern Italy to taste too. Bookings recommended.

🍃 Sturt Craft Centre is worth visiting any time of the year but they currently have an exhibition, until July 25, called “Drawn from the Garden” celebrating the beauty of nature, which is especially pertinent after the last year where many of us spent much more time finding solace in the garden. It showcases the works of 3 artists: Fiona Hiscock, Sharon Peoples and Julie Ryder with ceramics, embroidery and textiles respectively.
