🖼 Check out two fabulous art installations in Sutton Forest. One is the beautifully detailed & colourful shipping container art by local artist Yvette Marie Tziallis which you can enjoy from under the trees at a beer garden table at the bustling family friendly Sutton Forest Inn. Recommended for a pub lunch on a sunny day with & plenty of space for the kids to explore too.
🐔 The other is a sculpture just down the road on the Illawarra Highway – a magnificent metallic rooster’s head emerging out of the paddocks, overseeing the busy road between Moss Vale and Sutton Forest so it’s best viewed by the kids from your passing car. Sutton Forest Café makes a lovely nearby stop if you’re looking for coffee, pastries or a bite to eat.
🎁 If you’re looking for a truly unique gift, drop into the City & Sticks Popup shop in Springetts Arcade in Bowral. Jodie and James are showcasing over 70 Australian artists, makers and designers (many are Highlanders) with a beautifully diverse selection of art, clothes, homewares and furniture. They can tell you about each of their makers, so it’s such lovely way to learn more about & support local!
🗽 Just a few blocks away visit the Bowral Art Gallery, where the annual Bowral Sculpture Prize exhibition is running from Feb 27 to March 7 featuring both indoor & outdoor sculptures. The Gallery is set in the historic heart of Bowral so it’s a lovely leafy setting and area to take a wander with plenty of nearby by cafes for a lazy brunch or lunch to follow.
🌈 Don’t miss the latest gorgeous yarn bombing installation by textile street artist @kitty-knitter – woollen knitted rainbow bollards now greet you at the entry to Bundanoon Skate Park – it really just makes you want to smile! If you have skaters or scooters in the family it’s such a great spot to get outdoors and burn some energy. In the same precinct there’s also the bowling, tennis and croquet clubs, swimming pool, oval & dog walking track to use – perfect if you’re looking to enjoy the outdoors in beautiful Bundanoon
