Lots On in the Highlands October 2020!

🍒   Soak up one of Spring’s best offerings on the Cherry Tree Walk at Bowral, now at the end of it’s blossom season but still stunning! The beautiful cherry trees lining the walkway commemorate each soldier lost in the Vietnam War. It’s an easy meandering pathway perfect for walkers, little bikers and on lead pooches. Starts at the pool and follows a creek through the leafy back streets of Bowral. So many lovely refuelling stops to enjoy nearby too including Press Shop , Plantation CafĂ© & South Hill Kitchen for starters.

đŸŒ·Â  While you’re at it, pop in to see the gorgeous tulip explosion at nearby Corbett Gardens. In the absence of Tulip Time this year it’s a great way to get your 2020 tulip fix before the month of October gets away on us!

đŸ–ŒÂ  Take a drive this long weekend to this vivid green part of the world and check out the Kangaroo Valley Art Prize showing at the Kangaroo Valley Hall Gallery. All the finalist’s works will be on show and will be available for sale, showcasing emerging and established Australian artists with works in all different kinds of media. Plenty of lovely cafes & The Friendly Inn Hotel (one of the oldest pubs around) to visit afterwards too.

đŸ’ƒđŸŸÂ  Feel like dancing?! Secure one of the last seats to see the fabulous Leo Sayer live and out of loch-down at the beautiful Berrima venue The Loch 10 or 11 October. Tickets include drinks, lunch / dinner and Leo’s show. Cannot wait!

🏆   The Bundanoon Scarecrow Competition is on in the first week of the month. You’ll find them in private gardens and some businesses so grab a list of those on display from the Village Grocer and Store in Bundanoon & have a wander through beautiful Bundy township and shops! Potters Pantry have a great entry for starters and yummy treats too!

⛱   Grab the rug & basket (& fill it with your favourite treats from Birch Store) & enjoy strolling & picnicking around the historic and beautiful Retford Park estate in Bowral. The house and garden tours conducted by the National Trust NSW, are available this October long weekend and again at the end of the month – October 31. You’ll need to book in advance to secure tix so it’s worth planning ahead for this one!
