🚗 Day trip to Ngunnunggula – the new Southern Highlands regional gallery opening October 12th  . Promising to be a local gem combining art, culture, and food in a historical Highlands setting, we really cannot wait to visit! The gallery is located in the architecturally renovated dairy building on the grounds of the National Trust property Retford Park at Bowral. The development has long been championed by local art legend Ben Quilty and kicks off with an exhibition by Tamara Dean, an acclaimed photo media artist. There will also be a focus on art education for all ages, & on celebrating the language & culture of the local Gundungurra people too. Also looking forward to visiting the new onsite café, The Hearth, operated in partnership with renowned Moonacres Kitchen.
🍷 Picnic amongst the vines and rolling paddocks at Cherry Tree Hill Wines with a bottle or two of cool climate wines & a pre ordered Birch Store picnic basket from the cellar door filled with local gourmet goodies.  Pooches welcome, and all the picnic gear provided. A lovely way to spend the afternoon just off the Hume Highway at Sutton Forest. Whilst in the area, make sure to pop into Red Cow Farm, one of the most visited private gardens in the Highlands. Spread over 2.5 hectares there are 20 beautifully tended garden rooms so there is something for every gardening enthusiast to enjoy.
⛪ Take a scenic drive to Fitzroy Falls & Burrawang – another great little road trip from here at Exeter. Just a gentle walk for the whole family from the Visitor Centre to the viewing area to see Fitzroy Falls cascade over sandstone on the northern edge of Morton National Park. Follow up in nearby Burrawang with a pub lunch in the beer garden at Burrawang Village Hotel, sitting in amongst the bumpy  green hills in the distance, then meander round the pretty, historic village & enjoy a coffee & people watch from the verandah at Burrawang General Store.
⛳ Book a round of golf on one of the many beautiful Highlands courses this Spring. There are some stunning yet challenging courses in the Highlands including nearby Moss Vale Golf Club and Mt Broughton Golf & Country Club where you can enjoy a good walk in the sunshine with friends, clubs in hand, then proceed on to the all important 19th hole to dissect the day.
