‘Tis the Season to celebrate with family, friends & the pooch, so why not head to a gorgeous Highlands beer garden for your al fresco get together:
🚜 Sutton Forest Inn has a fabulous beer garden & playground for the kids (& furpals) with an old tractor to explore, great bistro food & the gorgeous green paddocks of Sutton Forest to gaze out upon. Hard to go past their range of burgers with a local craft beer by Southern Highlands Brewing. We also love the colourful & striking container art by talented Highlands local Yvette Tziallis which sits in amongst the tables too.
🍕 Bundanoon Hotel is definitely a favourite beer garden for families with pooches & local Bundanoon mini donkeys have been known to occasionally pop in too. With shaded tables it takes on a garden party feel especially on New Year’s Day and Australia Day when the pool in the background really comes into play! Great bistro food, wood fired pizzas, wine & beer plus the cocktail shaker comes out for the weekend at 4pm on Fridays.
🐕 Briar’s Inn is an ever popular recently restored historic Burradoo pub, established 1834. Lots of great outdoor seating options if you have the pooch in tow, plus an outdoor big screen, fenced playground, tin shed and teepee for the kids. Giant chess board on the front lawn too. Steak & the famous potato bake is hard to beat!
🏫 Surveyor General Inn oozes history, being the oldest continuously licensed Inn in Australia – if the sandstone walls could talk! There’s a sunny beer garden or dine under the old verandah with the furpal at foot. Great food offerings from Bistro 1834, many local cool climate wines on offer too. One of Australia’s classic pubs and all within cooee of the historic village of Berrima, if you’re up for an explore.
🧀 Burrawang Village Hotel beer garden is hard to beat as a destination for a Highlands drive & pub lunch, sitting in amongst the historic village & beautifully lush bumpy green hills. Lots to choose from on the pub menu – the Ploughman’s Board is a great graze option, featuring local Mauger’s Meats ham & perhaps a glass of bubbles whilst you enjoy the view. The pooch will appreciate an explore of Burrawang Village afterwards too.
